Another Muhlenberg Greene Architects project has broken ground! Earlier this month, Keystone Villa at Ephrata bought the former Artworks at Doneckers site, in preparation for the new Retirement Community being constructed by Hollenbach Construction, Inc, which is expected to open in September 2014.
Keystone Villa is a Berks County-based retirement community with locations in Fleetwood and Douglasville. The project will involve demolition of several ancilary buildings of the old shoe factory, and the renovation of a 35,000 square foot mill building. This wing of the building will be incorporated into the construction of the two new wings, and comprise the new 139 unit apartment building. Amenities will include a 2nd-floor outdoor terrace, multiple activity centers, fitness center, outdoor courtyard, beauty salon, and library. Living unit options will include independent living, personal care, and memory care.
