We are pleased to announce that Howard Quaintance, AIA, LEED AP, a Principal of Muhlenberg Greene Architects, has been elected as the 2014 President of the Board of Directors of AIA Pennsylvania.
Founded in 1909, AIA Pennsylvania is the statewide component of the American Institute of Architects and represents the eight local component chapters in Pennsylvania. In representing, serving and communicating the interests of local chapters and individual members, AIA Pennsylvania promotes the profession of architecture throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania while striving for the highest quality in the built environment.
AIA Pennsylvania, serving over 2,700 members statewide, regards the architect’s role as essential and represents the interests of architects in state government affairs, advocating for enlightened legislation and public policies that emphasize good community design and responsible stewardship of the built and natural environments.
Mr. Quaintance is a graduate of the Pennsylvania State University, College of Arts & Architecture with degrees in Architecture and Architectural Engineering. In addition, he has studied abroad in London, England and Florence, Italy.
His local architectural projects of note include the renovation and addition to the Reading City Hall, the Children’s Home Carole & Ray Neag Center, the Reading Eagle Co. Press & Distribution Center, the Utility Employees Credit Union Corporate Center and the Elementary, Intermediate and Middle Schools for the Muhlenberg School District.
